While we are currently not an in-network provider, we can provide a billing statement at the end of each month to be submitted for reimbursement for clients with PPO, HSA, or other flexible benefits.

Payment

For convenience and ease, we accept all major credit cards as well as FSA and HSA cards. Payment is due at the time of your session and is automatically processed through our secure booking software.

Whether you're exploring EMDR, trauma therapy, CBT, or couples counseling, it’s important to understand the typical cost of therapy sessions and how your insurance might help. I offer both in-person therapy at my Noe Valley office in San Francisco and online therapy via Zoom, giving you flexible access to support.

San Francisco Therapy Session Cost

Standard individual sessions are 45 minutes. For EMDR and deeper trauma processing, longer 60- or 90-minute sessions are often more effective and are billed at a prorated rate. The average therapy session cost depends on session length, the modality used, and the therapist’s experience.

If you're wondering about the cost for a therapist near you, my rates fall within the average therapist cost per hour for clinicians in the Bay Area.

Therapist Fees & Sliding Scale in San Francisco

My session rates are aligned with the average cost of therapy in San Francisco for licensed, trauma-informed therapists. We understand therapy is a significant investment, and because of this, we reserve a limited number of low-cost therapy slots each month. If you're searching for a low-cost therapist or reduced-fee EMDR therapy, we encourage you to reach out to discuss current availability.

Couples Therapy & Family Therapy Cost in San Francisco

The cost of couples therapy and family therapy can vary depending on session length and complexity. Most sessions are 45–60 minutes, and extended sessions are available when needed. We strive to offer accessible couples therapy, including low-cost couples therapy options where possible.

Clients often inquire about the average cost of couples therapy, which typically varies, depending on the therapist's experience and the structure of their practice. I’m happy to talk through options to find a good fit for your needs.

EMDR, CBT & DBT Therapy Cost in San Francisco

The cost of EMDR therapy is based on session time. Longer sessions (60–90 minutes) are often recommended for EMDR to allow for more focused reprocessing. If you're seeking EMDR therapy at a low cost, please reach out for sliding scale availability.

We also offer sessions grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). The CBT therapy cost and DBT therapy cost are consistent with my standard session fees. These approaches can be particularly helpful for anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, and trauma recovery.

Insurance & Reimbursement Options for San Francisco

While we are not currently an in-network provider, we do offer monthly superbills for clients with PPO insurance plans, FSA, or HSA accounts. These can be submitted to your insurance company for partial reimbursement, depending on your plan.

If you’re comparing the average cost of therapy without insurance versus the cost of therapy with insurance, many PPO clients receive 40–80% reimbursement for out-of-network mental health services. Be sure to check with your insurer for details about out-of-network coverage.

Payment Methods

Payment is due at the time of service. For your convenience, all major credit cards, as well as HSA and FSA cards, are accepted. Payments are automatically and securely processed through my HIPAA-compliant booking system.
